Koichiro Shima joined Hakuhodo in 1993 as a PR planner. During the rest of the 1990s he was an internet editor for corporate websites. In 2001 he was seconded to The Asahi Shimbun Company and launched the tabloid newspaper Seven.
Since 2002, he has been planning and implementing integrated advertising campaigns. He was Editor in Chief of the Hakuhodo publication Kohkoku from 2002-2005. Then in 2006 he established and became CEO of Hakuhodo Kettle, a creative agency that goes beyond traditional advertising and communications.
Koichiro is involved in media development .He runs online media and a culture magazine called Kettle. He loves movies directed by Yasujiro Ozu and Woody Allen and is known for his enthusiasm for Bourgogne wine and trivia.
